Mother Garnette T. Jones

 Garnette T. Jones, age 73, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Mother Jones was born July 25, 1951 to the late Bishop Robert Lee Hooker and Lady Cottie M. Hooker. 

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Tamissa Douglas; beloved son, Bishop Carl B. Jones (Tracy); her adoring grandchildren: Shemar Douglas, Jazmyne Vann, Andrianna Vann, Nakia Jones, and Carl B. Jones Jr. (CJ);  faithful nephews, Charles “BJ” Dixon, and Garrett Hooker; her loving niece, Garnette Hooker; a dear cousin, Paulette Guilford Crawford; and a host of extended family members, cherished friends, and spiritual sons and daughters.

A Celebration of Life will be held 12noon Saturday, May 31,2024 within the Sanctuary of Mount Moriah Community Church (MCC-Raleigh) 1500 Garner Road, Raleigh, NC.

Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
